articles of iron, steel, nickel alloys,copper and copper alloys to
facilitate soldering, to improve antigalling characteristics and prevent
corrosin.
2. parts must be sealed in sulfur--free plastic bags with desicant to prevent
oxidation/contamination of plated surface.
3. bright tin plating including stannolume128, stannolume 160
4. semi--bright tin plating including stannolume 128, semi--bright.
(stannolume 128 with 50% reduction in brightness)
5. matte tin plating including amtin 201.
6. dull tin plating, including "splashless tin"
7. unless otherwise specified on engineering drawings, type l plating to
be used,
8. all of the above plating processes must meet or exceed
the repuirements of the following ASTM and MIL specifications
9. plating surface should be free of contaminants
10. service condition SC1 classification CU/SN5 or FE/SN5
11. A plating process other than the above mentioned is used or
12. when plating vendor is changed,also if existing vendor plating type changed,(e.g.type ll to type lll)
13. To pualify a plating process. a manufacturing process approval will be required ,
14. vendor should send a minimum of 5000, pieces with an outline of the plating
15. process used; and a certificate of compliance accompanying shipment.
