With the new and improved user guidance, you can create patterns faster, modify them later, and reuse your user-defined features such as pockets and slots – far beyond the predefined machining features already included in CoCreate Modeling. After you create your patterns, you can use the brand new capabilities inside linear, grid, array, and irregular patterns to selectively suppress features. Plus, you can automatically propagate feature changes to any pattern across a part to avoid redundant design effort.
Now when your CoCreate Sheet Metal library changes, you can use the new Analyze and Redesign command to instantly update tooling and material thickness across product designs in response to changes in machinery, suppliers and material availability. You’ll avoid unnecessary tooling costs and manufacturing delays by keeping sheet metal product designs and manufacturing processes in sync. Color-coded results give strong visual feedback to help you update stamps and punches to match the new tooling, or adjust bend and corner reliefs for substituted material. Also, CoCreate Sheet Metal now handles imported variable-thickness sheet metal parts so nothing will stop you from modifying design data from other CAD systems.
We’ve further enhanced the integration between CoCreate Modeling and CoCreate Model Manager so you can save your daily work even when you have multiple revisions of locked parts and assemblies loaded into your working session. You can load multiple revisions of an assembly or model, modify the unlocked geometry or assembly structure, and save your changes to the database without extra work of removing the locked, revisioned items. Feel free to evaluate “what if” scenarios between part revisions and still save your work-in-progress before you go to lunch!
Watch your drawings come alive with the new shaded and photo-realistic rendering options for drawing views. Unlike a static image, these lifelike views are associative to the 3D product design so they’ll keep in sync with any changes to the associated model. Because these realistic drawings are easier to interpret, you can improve the quality of communication and avoid costly misunderstandings.
CoCreate Task Agent, a CoCreate Model Manager and CoCreate Drawing Manager add-on module, now offers you even more automatic back-end services to eliminate repetitive and time-consuming operations on your drawings and models. For instance, you can now create general jobs, such as an automatic data exchange with another system based on an event trigger. CoCreate Task Agent also includes configuration enhancements, such as the configurable filtering and sorting of plot jobs or updating clash analysis jobs automatically based on part or assembly state transitions.
When you create skin surfaces in CoCreate Surfacing, you can store the properties for the 3D curve mesh and surface conditions defining the skin as part of the model. When you later modify the skin surface, you can use these original boundary conditions and make changes to the surface faster and easier than you thought possible. And, with on-the-fly freeform manipulation or persistent surface properties, you can explore different skin shapes and style options, edit surfaces faster, and release a better product to market.
With CoCreate Modeling 2008, you can analyze both imported and native skin surfaces to automatically create 3D curve meshes that you can store as surface properties. You can later use these stored surface properties to drive subsequent modifications to new skins. The result: designers spend less time recreating imported 3D design data and more time using it, and companies can better leverage multi-source CAD data in the design process.
The new Wire Editor delivers greater flexibility for making changes to 3D curves, while automatically detecting and protecting established tangency conditions. Because Wire Editor also automatically detects different curve conditions, such as curve in plane, fixed radius for arcs and circles, fixed axis for arcs and cylinders, and fixed vertex, you can insert new conditions onto 3D curves. Plus, you can more quickly modify meshes for surfacing and adjust routing of complicated paths through 3D space with a single tool and multiple options for splitting, merging and modifying curves.
CoCreate 2007 redefined designing in cross-section. CoCreate Modeling 2008 builds on that foundation and adds new capabilities to improve the cross-sectional design of components with rotational geometry, such as spindles. These new capabilities dramatically reduce the number of repetitive steps used to modify components with rotational geometry, often down to a single operation, so you’ll work faster and more productively.
New blend improvements, streamlined blend options, and built-in intelligence take the complexity out of complex blending operations, increasing your everyday productivity. We’ve merged blend creation and blend insertion into a single command that automatically interprets the blend scenario and first offers you the commonly expected blend result. Or, you can achieve different results with the various options that control the shape of blends where they intersect other faces.
