The intuitive user interface gives quick access to the various functions of 3D-Tool.
Models can be rotated or panned simply with the left and right mouse button.
The Viewer and the data produced by you can be passed as a compact and directly executable file (*.exe) - free from additional licensing costs. The size of the Viewer is only about 600 KB. The recipient does not have to install anything in order to quickly display your data.
Create Custom Views. These save all the display attributes of the current state and also the component status (Shown/Hidden). You can then play a Slideshow to successively display the Custom Views. With this ability you can purposely highlight certain details of your project to the person viewing your data.
For Presentations a Fullscreen modus is available.
Within 2D-Drawings lines can be represented either in the original color or black-and-white.
Individual Shells, Assemblies or Parts can be hidden or shown.
Use dynamically positioned cross sections to examine the inside of your models.
Distances, angles, radii or wall thickness can be measured and displayed by simple selection with the mouse, without any special CAD knowledge.
Any detail can be annotated with 3D-Notes.
Volumes and Dimensions of the Parts or Shells can be determined.
The View can be easily printed or saved as BMP or JPG-Files.
Models can be displayed shaded, as wire frame or as points.
Assign new colors to the details, or simply use the Autocolor function to assign different colors to each file, shell or surfaces with only one click.
Files or Shells can be made transparent.
3D-Tool provides various functions to move, rotate, scale or mirror individual Shells or complete parts.
With placement functions you orient parts relative to other part's geometry or the coordinate system.
3D-Tool automatically computes smooth surface information (if missing) to improve the display quality.
The light position can be dynamically changed, in order to emphasize details more clearly.
The color of the background is freely selectable. An adjustable gradient background provides a more realistic backdrop for your virtual prototype models.
3D-Tool has different analysis functions:
Check the wall thickness of parts,
Check the draft angles of parts,
Analysis of parting in 2 cavities.
3D-Tool provides rapidly prototyping functions, in order to check, modify, and re-save STL files:
Highlighting of non-connected –bad- edges,
Repair functions for incorrect STL files,
Automatic positioning of the parts on a platform for RP systems,
Shifting and rotation of parts on the platform by DragNTrans.
