GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: (Job's primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.)
flex SDIC (Shanghai Design and Innovation Center) is looking for highly motivated and talented individuals to develop innovative automotive electric products. This position is responsible for the mechanical designs and engineering validations of automotive products
Core Responsibilities:
1, Join a team with both global and local engineers to develop automotive electronic products.
2, Support and drive the creation of component DFMEA, validation test plans, and other technical design documents.
3, Develop design concepts and production designs in CAD tools.
4, Optimize the concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments.
5, Performing Finite Element Analysis (Structural).
6, Conduct tolerance analysis and allocation.
7, Complete and release system, sub-system and component designs in the PLM system.
8, Collaborate with a variety of engineers within and beyond the devices group to achieve integrated and optimized system designs.
9, Interface with suppliers for manufacturing feasibility, validation, and other engineering activities, as necessary.
10, Deliver specifications, designs, analyses, and prototypes on time and within budget.
11, Insure designs are suitable for high volume, high quality manufacturing and assembly processes and are inherently reliable for the life of the product.
12, Create (with component/system supplier and/or internal validation testing teams) component and subsystem design verification plans and test methods.
13, Complete component and system validation as required, insuring system targets are met and optimized.
14, Support and help coordinate product prototype builds as well as production introductions.
QULIFICATIONS AND CAPABILITIES (Education, experience, soft skills, preferred):
Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
4+ years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in a large company
Proficiency in Creo or CATIA, or similar 3D CAD software.
Strong knowledge and experience in the fundamentals of FEA
Strong knowledge of material properties and applications.
Strong knowledge of Die Casting process and related tool procedures
Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal process; stamping Die and forming tool procedures
Strong knowledge to better understanding of injection molding
Working knowledge of engineering drawing practices (ASME Y14.100)
Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing (ASME Y14.5 2009)
Demonstrated talent for conceiving efficient design solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Disciplined in design and verification methodologies.
Perform under pressure and a positive attitude is mandatory
Good problem solving skills.
Good communication skills and able to work in a cross-functional environment.
Good ability to speak & understand English.
